I know they're a hatchery... but I was VERY happy with my purchase from Metzer farms, here is their link...

To me, their prices are as good if not better than most I see selling on Craigslist, but with the bonus of them being NPIP certified and you can have the ducklings sexed. Sexed duckling for the same price people are selling their straight run and half the time cross breeds (if they admit it) for, makes it an easy choice for me.

It ended up being more cost effective to buy 10 ducklings verses paying the extra fees to ship only 5. And then selling off the extras was easy! I raised long enough to kn ow which ones I wanted to keep and sold the others for $20 each at 8-12 weeks old.

Otherwise, I do see lots of peeps selling them on CL. Be discerning though.

Gosh ducklings were SOOO different than chicks! And cute of course.

Metzer wont have ducks until at least Feb 1, was hoping to get started asap. Cant find any Khakis on local area Craig's list, only mixed breeds, Peking's, or Muscovy. Same for eggs. Don't have a facebook account, hate the thought of starting one.

Ya, I don't do facebook either!

I knew most hatcheries don't start shipping until Feb. But people always go oh, Ca.. it don't get "cold" there. So I thought maybe there was possibility.

Still very cold for babies.

Its been freezing here every morning for few days. I looked yesterday, metzer can ship out on dec 26, im a little afraid of the cold. I might try to contact and get next day shipping. still would rather get more local if possible.
