Looking to get into peafowl

I agree with the above statement on square footage. I also definitely agree with pricing on birds getting pretty high. Depending on the color and age you can pay a ton of money for them and most of the time you won't find birds under 60 dollars even as just regular india blues. I would highly suggest not buying chicks or eggs as peafowl eggs are finicky when it comes to incubation and the chicks get sick easily if not given certain special care. One other thing is that peas and chickens tend to not do well together. Chickens carry diseases that don't hurt them but will kill peafowl, male peas also can become very aggressive towards chickens during breeding season. While they are very rewarding to keep it does take alot of planning.
 
100 sq ft per bird? Is this inside or outside? Curious about them but trying to learn all I can until next spring.
