Looking to rehome 4 chickens and 1 rooster. Grants Pass, Oregon

Let me start by saying I am heartbroken by this I never realized how much I would fall in love with these animals when I got them. I am currently in search of a home for my 4 chickens and 1 rooster who have been with me for the last 2 and a half years. I deeply care about the safety and well-being of them and really hope they end up with people who will love and care for them. I am being forced to move by my current landlord and with how hard it is to find any places in southern oregon I will most likely be moving back to california with my parents for a while. The chickens still lay eggs and the rooster does a very good job when it comes to protecting them. A couple of the chickens even enjoy being picked up and carried around. The rooster is not mean. They must stay together.

I ended up finding them all what seems to be a very good home. This was not an easy task. They all got to go together, and the guy and his daughter seem to care for all of them. He sent me my first update yesterday, he was feeding them meal worms and the hens were climbing on his shoulder and sitting on his leg. They seem like they are getting used to their new home. I do miss them and their personalities so much and I’m very sad ( I keep getting up to go hang out with them and as I’m getting up I remember they aren’t there anymore)

As long as they are happy though that’s what matters to me. One of them went broody a few days before she left so maybe she will get to have some babies at her new home!

Awww! It sounds like they have a really good home! You're a good chicken parent for doing what you needed to do and for finding someone who will take good care of them!
