I want to start breeding and selling button quail, but I have a few questions:

Can they live outside? I live in the south, so summers are usually 100 degrees during the day. The winters aren't usually bad but it does get into the lower teens.

Do the parents raise them? I have an incubator, but I would prefer to let the parents raise them.

What do you feed them? I have seen people feed chicken feed, show chow, finch feed, and game bird feed, which is best?

Any other breeding/raising tips highly appreciated :D

TIA!

Button quail are native to southeast Asia, so they prefer a warm climate. I wouldn't keep them in temperatures below 40F, but they might be okay as long as they have small, warm shelters to hide in.

They should be fine at 100F as long as they have shade and plenty of water.
