I think it's similar to rain rot which horses can get in a wet climate. I never noticed that the bluekote would sting, though it's been a few years since I had my Nubian. Bluekote is good for treating fungal infections which I believe that is. I find it strange that only my Nubian would have the same problem yearly and all my other goats didn't. So it's interesting yours has Nubian in it.Very very wet. The wettest year on record in va since they started recording in 1840 something. I had a feeling had to do with moisture. Already caused other problems through the year. I have blu kote ... does it sting? I would think mites but it’s all just bottoms of the legs and it’s only her. The other 3 legs look fine
Do they have raised platforms? Or can you get them to higher ground? Wet ground and goats is a pain. Worms and cocidia will thrive too in wet ground.I’ll start with blu kote first thing tomorrow. 3 of my young ones are a mix with Nubian. Maybe just more sensitive skin. Whatever the reason if blu kote could help I will definitely try it. We had to treat mama for hoof rot/scald earlier in the year cause of the excessive moisture I’ve never hated rain this much. Another few inches expected tomorrow![]()
