They sure do hate that! We've had to use that for several of our dogs, and once for a cat - we have all the sizes by now.

Awww, poor guy. I had to put one on our male GSD once. The pepper, and bitter apple spray didn't deter him from taking off his bandage. So, cone of shame it was. Well, he was so pathetic after putting that thing on, I took it off. All I had to do after that was show him the cone of shame, and he would immediately stop messing with his bandage.

I was really, really worried that our LGD would have to wear an e-collar after his cruciate surgery.. The vet said Nope..that he'd put a whole bunch of sutures in under the outer sutures, and he did the outers in such a way as they wouldn't really be tempting to chew on. It's been a week today, and he's not even really licked it that much. His sutures will come out Sunday morning, if not Saturday evening.

For a dog that large...150lb+ Sarplaninac...we decided the upshot would be that we might be able to pick up a few extra channels with him wearing what would amount to a satellite dish.
