SIGH!!! I have a cockerel about 20 weeks old now. I got him about a month ago and have been treating him for bumblefoot from the get go. I've been soaking his feet in epsom salt and changing bandages every other day. It is quite tiring but last night the last big hunk of black scab finally came off. So, we are making head way.
But when he was soaking last night he dropped a big runny load right out side of the tray his feet were in (thank god he missed). I noticed what looked like pieces of red rice. I picked one out (with my gloves on of course) for closer examination and cut it open. It was all gooey like bug guts. I am assuming he has worms
but I don't know what kind. I have been through so much with this guy.
I've seached the threads but can't find out what it might be so I know how to treat him. Even though he is in isolation I want to treat the rest of my flock too. Also I have a golden comet with a clipped beak who has lice (I think) so I want to go ahead and treat everyone for external parasites too. What should I use on everybody?
