Loose dogs

@mowin They clearly say they were both.

I do agree they probably weren't feral, which is why I put it in quotes, but I'm not trying to argue semantics. Largely irrelevant to the rest of the point I was making.
I read it that they have killed 7 feral in the past, but the latest attacks are not feral, but pets, so there's not a new "feral" dog coming every day as you put it.

Either way, they definitely have a situation I'm glad I'm not having to deal with, and I hope they figure it out sooner rather than later.

it's sad because it seems like these abandoned dogs are really hungry. is there any sort of trap and neuter program for feral colonies near you? maybe they could supply food away from your flock. im so sorry for your loss.
Feral dogs or even pets that pack up and start killing to just kill , (they are not eating the birds it's pleasure killing purely for the enjoyment of killing .) They either are put down by state trappers or shot by private citizens . When they pack like that there is the real chance that a person or a small child could be mauled . It's a hard decision to make to have to kill dogs . I hate doing it I used to trap them but are locale ' rescue ' just let's the owner pay a fine and they just go right back to doing what they were doing

I suggest moving them until you can protect them or you're going to lose them sorry.Without pictures its difficult to make better suggestions.
We are slowly eradicating dog problems. I have repaired coops . This is a temporary coop . We are going to be moving as soon as the house is finished being remodeled. They are going to have a permanent coop. Behind a 6 foot yard fence

"I used outdoor dog runs/kennels from TSC . They have rabbit / hardware wire on the outside and 1 inch chicken wire on the inside . A predator skirt and covered."

So were they in the fence you described above or a temporary fence? I admit I'm confused.
Pictures would help .

We don't have an animal control. I am in very rural area . Sheriff's Department says im in my right to kill dogs) predators that kill livestock or pets . We have killed 7 dogs so far this week that were ferel . These are people's pets and that makes it worse knowing that they just don't care enough to let their dogs do whatever they want.
Feral dogs aren't pets. They don't belong to anyone.

Have you recently made changes in their pens and fences?
I think he knows that...
I believe what he was trying to convey was this attack he's posting about are not feral, but people's pets.
I suspect all of them were pets because every dog in the community didn't decide to get loose & kill her chickens the same week. These dogs knew each other well.
