Hello -

I have new baby chicks which have only been home with me for 2 days, guessing they are only about 4 or 5 days old, 2 Rhode Island Reds, a Wyandotte, an Australorp and an Ameracuna. I am feeding them Manna Pro Medicated Chick Starter and a few of them are getting loose, smelly stools. Should I be concerned?

Thank you!

Loose stool in chicks is usually stress. They've been through a lot! As long as they're perky, eating and drinking it should clear up on it's own in a few days. Welcome to the forums!

Thank you so much for your response! They are definitely perky and eating and drinking. I'll look for it to clear.
Sincere appreciation,
TJ

Sure thing! Just keep an eye on those fluffy butts in case they get pasty bums (common chick problem, very easy to fix with a little soak) and have fun with those babies :)

Thanks all!

@thecrumbler I did give a fluffy, crusty butt bath to one of them. She seemed to fare well and definitely happier being cleaned up. Don't blame her!

Thanks again!
