Loosing too many chicks

I change the water at least daily and change feed when it starts to get low. I don't put much in at a time so they can't ruin too much at a time.
Not sure you can see thermometer in the chips but it is saying 95 degrees.

I went from Purina medicated chick starter grow for the first two broods, to the house brand chick starter grow that the farm supply store had been feeding them.

If you are not feeding medicated feed, they can get coccidiosis. I would use medicated feed first 8 weeks.

I think it may just be a problem clutch of pullets. Brahma pullets. All the rest seem fine at this point. I lost the first Brahma pullet the second day. Then another about every two or three days.
Only Brahmas, only pullets.

This is the 32 x27 clear plastic tote I have been using for all three.View attachment 1682079

Have you lost any more?
They are tiny - are they eating the crumbles o.k.? Are they pooping?
If they seem to be having a hard time eating the crumbles, you can offer it wet, just make a small amount at a time.

Chicks can still have an overload of Coccidiosis regardless if they are eating medicated feed or not. The very small amount of Amprolium that is found in feed in the US might help with some prevention. Keep the brooder dry and water spills cleaned up.

No, have not lost anymore. Looks like we may be in the clear. The two Brahma pullets are really kind of small.
The Orpington pullets are twice as big and the Brahma Cockerel is now the biggest of the five. No longer sure that my Buff Brahma pullets are actually Buff Brahmas. They are super dark compared to the cockerel.
