Losing another hen to this awful heat

My smaller coop has always been in heavy shade. We just recently moved the other coop out next to it. It was a nightmare to move, but at least it's done.
 
im a newbie to raising chickens, but what seems to help mine the most is that ive dug a foot trench into the ground next to a big shady tree. they sit in it and they hardly pant unless they go stupid and run to middle of the yard in full sunlight (which they occasionally do). you should also place pans with water wherever the chickens tend to rest. there are four spots in my backyard where my chickens will rest and i have placed water pans in each area.
 
Here in TX I have to refresh the water every time I can manage it. So sorry for those losing birds, I lost some chicks early this summer.

Yeah, my brahma girls love their mud puddle. They wouldn't share it though, so the little ones have their own huge puddle on the other side of the fence.
