Losing chickens to the fox

I've had game cameras for 4 years and Fox shows up on cameras 3 to 4 times a week, mostly between dusk to dawn, but also during daylight, usually early morning before 9:00.
I lost my first chicken to a Fox last April minutes after sunset, just seconds before I went out to close coops.

I lost another chicken last June about 45 minutes before sunset. I was outside at the other end of property when I heard squawking. I ran towards it, but it was already in the woods.
I believe it was a Fox, but could have been a Bobcat.

I only Free range an hour before sunset daily weather permitting. I'm willing to take a chance.
The coops are secure at night and pens during the day. GC

Electric fencing, or electric poultry netting from Premier1supplies, properly set up, and baited at first, makes a big difference.
Your flock needs to be locked in until this situation is resolved!!!
It's possible, but difficult, to trap foxes, and only do it if you will then shoot any predators you catch. If it's safe, and you get lucky, you might be able to shoot this one when it returns, if it's only one.
Offering your birds as dinner is not the best choice!
