Hello folks. One of my 12 week old Easter Eggers is losing her tail feathers. We’re not seeing her or the other girls pulling them out, and no signs of any bugs. I’m in the Pacific Northwest so it’s not anywhere near time for molting. Could this be a juvenile molt of sorts? I just started noticing a handful of feathers in the run over the past 3 days. Today it is noticeable that they are hers. Does anyone have any ideas, or had this happen to their girls. Just want to make sure they are all healthy happy and thriving.

There wasn’t gap in her tail feathers Friday

Interesting, I also have a RIR with ONE stinking tail feather! I think since we had a hen killed by a predator, the pecking order has “literally” changed or is changing. Poor Emmy, only one tail feather to shake!
