Hey everyone. I have one lady (Artemis, the Barred Rock) that just started losing some feathers on her throat randomly and today I noticed the spot looks a little bigger. Finally got pictures today. She's eating, drinking, and acting normally (other than being quieter than she used to be - she used to be my loud mouth but Delilah, the Delaware, has taken that spot), and she's still laying.

I do have a coop cam and never see anyone picking at anyone.

They are on Nutrena Layer Feed with 17% protein and they get BSL and Grubbies almost daily.

No one else is showing any kind of signs or symptoms or naked spots, no signs of mites or lice, and poops look normal.

Any ideas?

To me it looks like over grooming by a flock mate that has escalated to feather plucking.
Thank you for the quick response! If that's the case, would something like a Pick No More work? There's no bloody spots like I'd expect if it were someone pulling out feathers, so I'm not sure what's what I could put on there to discourage it.

Will that stop others from plucking the feathers?
Yes, make sure you apply it to the area where the feathers are being picked, such as a bald spot or red picked area on the skin. It will also heal the area. Another option is Pinless Peepers. I personally prefer Pinless Peepers. Nu-Stock can be a bit messy, especially if you get it on you (the smell.)
