One of my flock of 5 has taken charge and has pecked a large patch of feathers off of another
(right down to the flesh). Shoulld I be worried, or just let it be? Thanks ahead of time.

The hen that pecked the other hen could potentially hurt or kill that hen. They have this liquid stuff called no peck or peck no more that you put on the hen that keeps on getting pecked. I would consider getting that before your hen gets hurt even worse. After a while the hen should stop pecking that other chicken when you use the no peck.

It would be worth a try to pick up some "No Peck" and see if it works.

For the short term, it may be best to isolate the featherless hen in order to prevent any further plucking. Depending on how severe the damage is, it may take a few months for the feathers to come back.
