Loss Of Color

Does anyone know why my male (10 month) call duck loss his green coloring ? He looks like his female counter part. Help. It's fair time and we cannot show our little boy when he looks like a little girl.

After breeding season I think some ducks lose their come hither looks and turn into female look-a-likes.

Most male ducks go through eclipse every summer.

Yep...ours is going through the same thing right now too. I am having a hard time telling Puddle and Olivia apart from a distance!
