I separated some of my white leghorn hens that appear to have mites (Loss of feathers not due to molting)
I did not see any product at the pet store. The store here sell chicken feed but it does not carry anything for mites. (The clerk honestly did not know anything about chicken and mites)
Should I purchase Sevin Dust? I read one posting and Sevin Dust was sugggested.
Did anyone have success with this product?
Is it harmful to chickens?
The label recommends this product for fleas and ticks. It does not have anything about mites.
Your comments and suggests would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
The LeghornGuy

Sorry, no answer just a question.
Were you able to make the diagnosis of mites, solely from Lossed feathers, or did you need to confirm it by another means?

My vet told me that any flea product that is safe for kittens and puppies is ok to use on chickens. He also told me bio spot for cats works well, but don't eat the eggs. I used DE FLEA spray. I like it, because it does not make me sick. (www.naturalchemistry.com)
