Wondering if anyone has some advice. I contacted the duck doctor in my area. She seems very knowledgeable and has ducks of her own. Within 1 week my 2 Pekins looked unhealthy as it looks like they lost their feathers around their eyes and the chest areas. I called right away because I was worried and she said that it probably has to do with their diet. So I changed their food to a "better" food in her opinion. More vitamins and nutrients for them, etc. Problem solved. But has anyone else had this happen? Not sure the sex on the pekins yet. They are probably right about 1 month old now.

Juvenile ducks will lose all their downy feathers and grow adult feathers. They certainly go through some awkward stages. What are you feeding them now? What were you feeding them before? Having the appropriate food will definitely help some with feather growth and development. Do you see any signs of new feathers growing in, they would be little points like cactus spikes coming in.

I was feeding them some type of Purina Duck food, that Tractor Supply recommended. Doctor recommended 7 lb Nature Wise Chick Starter Grower Feed 18% Crumble. This is what I just switched them too. Hoping this helps. Doctor did say that they go thru some "ugly"stages. ??? Dont know. Hope they are okay though. Yes, like a week ago I thought I saw some peeking out.

Mine all feathered in without losing feathers like that so far. They got all their belly/chest feathers, many of the neck feathers and several of them have many heand neck and back feathers. Mine never got naked like that though, and we had ours on the same starter your doctor suggested until we give them the new duckling feed we bought.

Yeah we just started them on the food the doc said, so i am hoping that helps!!! they were full feathered like a week ago... So it was odd?

When you said fully feathered a week ago do you mean with duckling fuzz or with adult feathers? If they grew adult feathers and lost them all this is real problem.
