Sometimes the chicken on the lowest end of the pecking order gets picked on. I had one chicken that lost all here tail and most of her back feathers because she was one of the low chickens. I took here out and she is now regrowing all her feathers. I'll see if I can find a picture of it.

Although some may disagree, a quality layer feed with added vitamins and minerals formulated for birds might be a good starting point for their nutrition, to which you can feed them rice, greens, and fish to help balance it out.
Lisa, I just read a post on another forum about a woman who brought home a chicken that was nearly bald... didn't say why, because she didn't know (it was bald when she got it)... anyway, she was reporting that the feathers were coming back in beautifully. My guess is, that whatever the cause, the feathers will eventually come back in!
