Lost 2 Roosters in 2 nights

I got all but 2 pens covered and it started again on a pen that had no light. I lost 4 chickens last night. It is an owl, a very large owl. I watched it kill 1 and leave it behind, then fly off with another kill later. I got this pen secure now so those chickens will be safe. I've got one more pen to go. I've heard owls are very hard to get rid of.

Legally they are hard to get rid of. I think you have to request/buy a permit or what not since it's harrassing/killing your livestock, and I think you have to prove that it is doing said deeds.

Even if you trapped it (which is illegal) and relocated it (also illegal), it would either come back, be someone else's problem, or cause an imbalance in the natural habitat of that area.

Sometimes you can find folks that are already licensed to do such things, not sure what costs are involved.
