I have dealt with my neighbors dogs chaos for 16 years now. Animal control has been out countless times...fined them at some..took their dogs at others. How many times does it take to explain "You are, by law, to keep your dogs on YOUR property and if on your neighbors causing a problem with livestock, etc. can be shot." We have killed one dog in the past. One year I lost 8 baby goats one spring but A would not take the dogs til I had picture proof of them bothering my goats. Each time I either get rid of one of their dogs or AC takes one they get 2 more to replace it. I was so happy to let my chickens free range til I noticed they had gotten an adult pit bull mix and a young german shepard which my husband caught at chicken run a few days later...one of my cats have already been attacked and vet bills are costly now. So...again....I call animal control. We have a new officer and from what I explain he is very strict so hopefully I will have his support. Otherwise..they officially know I can and WILL shoot the dogs when I catch them here. I do not like to do this but I have too much money invested in my chicken stock and they are also my pets. My husband has a very good pellet gun he killed one dog with...,I am for getting the 22 out. Looking forward to spring when we get our Pyrenees...hopefully that will keep the chaos down. So...if you have a problem with dog attacks...don't hesitate like I have...put them down cause like in the post above me..they will at some point move to bigger game....humans.
