Lost a Chick to a Sheep

I understand completely, my mare stomped a young pullet one night that was underfoot, and she meant to stomp it, killed the pullet dead. I did fuss at the darn horse, but she was just very annoyed at chickens being underfoot, her way of saying so. I think your little sheep was "playing" with the fowl, like a dog would. It's fun to chase around a silly chicken. Sorry you lost a little friend. Grow that nice lamb and have BBQ.

The sheep are in a horse trailer waiting to be hauled out of here first thing in the morning. I am new to chickens and I assumed that they would just steer clear of each other. I guess I am not a sheep person. Didn't help that the sheep broke through the not latched tigh enough gate and decimated the garden last night either.

I completely understand your frustration.
If the sheep annoys you so much, it's better to re-home it and be done. There's no sense in keeping it and regretting it every day.
I personally love sheep, but they aren’t everyone's cup of tea.

Too bad your on the other side of the US or I'd say "Drop them off at my place" I'd like a go at it!!!!!

All will settle now that you will just have chickens in that area.

I wouldn't even start to try and talk you into keeping them. You have made it clear you hate them...Sheep....

I'm sure you'll find a good home for them.

The Best to them and you....

I bottle raised a Barbados Black Belly lamb and, whenever I'd take him back to his owner's farm to acclimate him, he would start chasing the chickens 'cause they were the only things he could find that might want to "play." The sheep didn't MEAN to hurt the chickens; they were just playing and didn't understand that the chickens aren't the right size for them to be playing with...
