We lost one of our chickens today. A black sex link.
It was laying under the nesting boxes with a discolored greenish grayish egg lodged half in and half out.
We haven't noticed any weird behavior but will certainly be looking a little closer now!
Does anyone know what could have caused this? Or seen anything like this?
Don't know if it just died while trying to lay an egg or if laying the egg caused it.
