I'm kinda curious. I have(had) 6 New Hampshire pullets. prob. 3-4 months old. They all have a slight repiratory problem. They seem to be in good health other than that. We 2 days ago I went out and found one lying on the ground and i knew something was wrong. At first I thought something had gotten her because she had some blood on her beak. and had her mouth open slightly. But it came from her nose. They all have some runny noses. not really thick but still they have some discharge. I bought some antibiotics and put in their water a month ago. Seemed to help. She didn't seem that bad she's my freindliest chicken. Yesterday afternoon I went out and she was laying sideways and I thought she had died. picked her up and she was still alive. Pretty sure she hadn't drank anything. I took a syringe(small one) and gave her some water. She seemed to perk up a bit and I put her in the shade. I went and did some other things and an hr later my fiance had said she died. I looked up diseases and I can't figure what it could be. Any suggestions on how to treat the others?

Tylan 50. You can use it as injectable or as an oral medication. .5cc/bird per day for 5 days if using orally. .5/bird for 3 days if injecting. I just draw up the meds and put it on bread, they munch it right down.

Just another bit of advice...if you lose another, you should seriously think about having a necropsy done. Respiratory issues in chickens are not cured, they merely go into a remission of sorts. Stress can bring them back out and yet another antibiotic will be needed to cure. The seemingly cured chickens become carriers for life and can infect any other birds that you will bring into your flock. A necropsy would determine whether, or not, you are dealing with one of these diseases.
