I believe it was due to high temperatures yesterday. Is there anything we can do to help them stay cooler ? Their coop is in the shade but temps are so high :( I think I'll keep them in today so they won't be out in the sun.

We had awful heat here as well. We did chopped frozen fruit and veggies in a bundt pan, filled with water and froze. Pans of cold water for them to stand in and cool off. My mother thinks my husband and I are nuts but they were so hot!!! It helped!

Ive followed other people’s leads and have shallow pans of water out for them to walk in if they like but can’t say I’ve ever witnessed them using them. Lol.
*dump daily to avoid mosquito larvae.
You can also spray the garden hose on an area to soak the soil. They seem to enjoy digging down and lying in the moist cooler dirt.

Yeah, I did that when I fed them this am. I sprayed water on their food also.

I think their bodies are just getting used to the higher heat that is coming in for the summer.
Yeah, it's only going to get worse !:barnieI had to move my "rescue" kittens into the house. They were out at the barn in my shed, but it got up to 100 degrees out there:mad: And I don't really like cats in the house but its just too hot !!!
