Lost hen

I have had my girls for a year. I had 4 Buff Orpingtons and a pair of mini fleurs, hen and rooster. Last night I lost a Buff. I have a coop inside of a dog pen with a full roof. Something dug under the pen and pulled her out. The hold was not big and I cannot understand how they got her out. Does anyone have any idea what could have done this.

Welcome to BYC - sorry for the circumstances. It could have been any of a number of predators. The important thing is that it will return. Place a wire apron around the run, and lock the coop every night. Good luck.

Did it leave any clues, like hair or fur stuck to the fence, claw marks,etc. If you post on the predator threads please give them this info.

I see that you have been given some good advice and living in Aus, our predators are different to yours so I am probably not the best person to advise you, but I did just want to wish you all the best.
