I lost one of my Old English White hens a few days ago. :hitReally don't know what got her sick. It may have been egg sack disease but after she passed I felt her bottom and there wasn't any signs of anything hard there. I'm thinking maybe she got a hold of a leech. They suck blood and she acted like she couldn't catch her breath. Her legs and face were purple. Maybe she ate it and it stuck in her gizzard and sucked the life out of her. I felt so sad for her. She was getting thinner and thinner everyday. She couldn't eat, drink, stand up or stay awake. I finally couldn't let her live like that anymore so I put her out of her misery. I buried her in my back yard. She had another OE White friend she hung around with{Snowball} and now her friend is looking for her and crying. Marshmellow is in a better place now. I buried her next to my rooster, Peep. At least she isn't suffering anymore.:( R.I.P. Marshmellow Feb. 6th 2018- May 9th 2019

That’s sad, she had such a short life.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. You gave her the best life you could.
I hope so. She was the healthier one of the two too. I don't understand it. The other one has got a sneezing problem ever since she pecked at a tomato an it got in her nose. Marshmellow was the pretty one of the two as well. She fanned her tail to the fullest even though the pic doesn't show it. She really didn't like picture day.
