We tried to get a count this morning and most of them were dead. There was only 1 still alive and 8 dead. All good size and looked perfect. I'm so sad now. Is there hope for that one?

Leave the one in there for sure. First time moms can be a little psycho and don't always know what to do. Sometimes it takes until batch #3 for all to go well. My Tazi lost her first batch and she was a champ with her second, even adopted a few extra, so not all bunnies start out well with motherhood, I'm afraid.

I am dealing with this and lost two but one made it. I am being told that one alone can get too much milk and die easily. So I removed the baby and am going to let her feed only once a day in hopes of keeping her alive.
Then I read that the mom only feeds once a day the first two weeks, so maybe I need to get her fed every day and a half or so. How is yours doing?

So far so good. I have another doe that is supposed to kindle any day now. If she has a large litter I plan on taking maybe two out and putting them with the first litter. I think it may help.

So she has the one baby and it isn't over fed at all? Does she feed twice a day or once?

I'm not sure. There is just one baby and it looks healthy so far. I don't know how often she feeds it, the hutches are by the chicken coop and I've never caught her nursing.

My other doe kindled! I have 3 live kits! Not enough to separate them between the moms, but they look in good health. It looks like I'm just going to have to take my chances with that one little one. It is both of my does 1st litters so if we have any live kits I guess we are doing pretty good!
