But I will say this about wing clipping, I do it to protect my birds, we live in dense woods with a mountain river down below our home, and lots of preds. just waiting. All of my Scovy's get one wing clipped each fall after molt and when they turn 3 months old if youngins. Except for my 4 oldest at 9yrs they don't even think of flying any more, but the younger ones well ducks love to fly and I would hate to lose one because of their love for it. I use to not clip wings and a few would leave go to the river and walk home but our neighbors don't cut their land and it is not good for ducks to be walking around there. They have to go through neighbors property to get to the river. They fly down but walk home? don't ask me why.
