Lost my entire flock

I’m not looking for an advice I know how it happened there is no one to blame but myself. This morning I looked out the window to do a quick head count but I didn’t see any of my chickens instead I saw something black in my coop. I quickly went outside and saw that it was a skunk. As I approached the coop it left and that’s when I realized I had lost everyone in my flock. I had a momma hen with 7 chicks (2weeks old) and 2 juvenile hens. I’m devastated I know it was completely my fault. I expanded my coop with the addition of all the new chicks. But I hadn’t placed any wire underneath the coop. I keep putting it off. I have learned my lesson at a really high price.

So sorry! I know how you feel. I lost 2 of my favorite and friendliest hens to an opossum. Unfortunately it was because the pop door was left open all night
I caught and dispatched the possum.

That is horrible! I'm so sorry for your loss. I once had a raccoon get inside the coop and kill ten of my beautiful girls. Now that opening is nailed shut but I still blame myself. It will get better and let's just be glad that you will never make the same mistake again.
