We took the chicks and ducklings out for play time in the muddy garden today. Cleopatra wandered to close to the temporary fence and our young border collie stuck her head under and grabbed her head.
I was at the hardware store and my 17 yr old called me in a panic. I had her put her on a heating pad and hold her and I headed home planning on taking her to the E vet. By the time I got home Cleo was dead.
I knew Hannah wsn't safe around them, she tries to play to rough with small things. Our big dog mothers the chicks and they will curl up with her to sleep. I didn't think The dogs were able to get their heads under it, but I was wrong. I was more worried about the cats
The new temporary fence(temp cuz I'm not sure I like it) is buried 6"
