Well this afternoon I lost my first hen, Jenny. She was fine this morning, walking around, eating and acting normal in every way. I took a nap and this afternoon she was laying on the ground
She was only just 2 years old and had just started giving me eggs this spring :-(
Only thing with her was missing feathers on her saddle (no roos around) and this morning she must've plucked her most of her tail feathers. Perhaps she was egg bound? I checked her body (she was in with her friend that they were together for 1 year and the almost two-month old babies) no sign of lice/mites/fleas or other bugs and she had a full crop, no broken neck of anything... Only thing maybe was she was sitting on top of the baby's house the other day which she never did...I just really hope my other mature girl and the babies are okay!!
Poor Jenny...RIP
Jenny Robot Chicken running happily on the green lawn...
