Lost my whole flock💔😪

Very sorry for your loss, the neighbors dog dug under the fence and mutilated 2 of my chickens, one had to be put to sleep, the other one has finally recovered. The dog only stopped cos the other neighbors kids saw it and alarmed the owners, they paid for the vet, so that was ok. They also rehomed the dog the next day ( they had already found a new home, bad luck that the dog used her final day there to get at my chickens), and since the neighboring kids watched the drama, there was no way they could have claimed it wasn´t their dog, but...another neighbor has 3 rescue dog which have entered my yard 3 times, since I have no evidence except my son who saw them, I can´t get any payback from her....

#1 threat to any backyard flock is a dog . 2 strands of electric fence wire around your chicken wire enclosure will stop them in their tracks. Bait the wires to encourage them to touch the wires with their nose .Certain breeds have thick coats that can prevent them from feeling a shock anywhere but the nose or face.

Thank you! I'm looking into this now. Much appreciated!

I had this happen recently as a neighbor who lives blocks away
let their dog get out, and come into my yard. I found this woman
trying to catch her dog who was trying to get inside my chicken
run. All of my hens were freaking out. I went out with my rifle and made it clear to her that the next time I caught her dog in my yard, he was a dead animal. She knew I meant buisness, but never once apologized.

That is awful. I would be livid if this happened to me. I would want some sort of retribution… So sorry for your loss.
