I've lost a chicken 2 weeks ago and another is sick. They both were older, about 8 and 10 years old. Both had chronic pasty butt. They both became lethargic, puffed up, and small appetites. I have a few other birds that have a small amount of pasty butt. They seem to be fine. Not sure what to do.

Have you been feeding any treats like table scraps or scratch? Any signs of slow crops, mites/lice, ascites, respiratory distress, weight loss, or worms?

Table scraps, yes. I try to give them healthy scraps. Lots of veggies that I know they can have. We clean the coop at different times during the year. A mild cleaning and then a deep cleaning 2 times a year. We focus on mites and lice, just i case. They do have
Mycoplasma, but we try to keep them healthy as possible.

When is the last time you dewormed?

I have never dewormed. Not sure what to do for that.
I'd for sure start her on Corid (Amprolium) this will treat Coccidiosis.

To treat most worms that poultry can have except for Tapeworm you can use Safeguard (Fenbendazole) or Valbazen (Albendazole). Both are given orally by weight; they do not mix well with water.

Safeguard dose is 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days in a row.
---OR---
Valbazen dose is 0.08ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10 days

Here's how to give oral medications:

I wouldn't think you should give corid or safeguard to a sick chicken. Is that correct?
