A coyote got one of my Embden geese 2 days ago. I guess it had its head sticking out of the fence and was grabbed and dragged off. Poor Nola is alone now and she is acting weird. Not coming when I go out to feed, keeping her head kind of tucked in to her body. Is she grieving? Do they do that? Or is she sick? I'm not sure whether I should try to add a friend so she isnt lonely or whether to quarantine her for sickness. It would seem strange that she just got sick right after her mate was taken though. Anyone ever had this happen?

I'm pretty sure not. My yard is fenced. I think the only reason the coyote got the other is because it stuck its head out and gave the coyote something to grab.
