Got some Amerecuanas from the feed store. (yes I knew they were EE's) Cute little buggers. Multi tone brown stripes. One is extremely small and her sister is normal (?) for a 2 week old chick. They've been living in the brooder with some bantams and a couple australorps. Eatin' drinkin' and poopin' to their hearts content. Came home and checked on their water and food and the bigger EE is laying there in the shavings.
Took her out back to the pet cemetary.
Getting tired of burying pets.
This bites.

I am so sorry for your loss! That must be heartbreaking!

Oh, crud. That does stink. Last year wasn't my best year, and I lost too many. It was a hard year. I vowed I wouldn't do it again, but here I am, again with more chicks. But this year I learned from the mistakes I made last year.

I'm not saying you made any mistakes, though! It sounds like you had a good set up. I guess it's just one of "those things".

I'm very sorry for your loss.

It's sad, but somthing we have to go through, as pet owners.

And remember, everything happens for a reason.

I've lost 2 of my 5 in the past 5 days so I know how it feels. They both got their proper lil burials out back, too. Really stinks! Doesn't help that I'm pregnant and 100x more emotional now than usual!
