Lost our EE today

We have four chickens and I saw them all up and around late this morning. Went out an hour ago because one of our barred rocks was squawking and wouldn't stop and saw Goldie up in the roost area dead. I don't think she was egg bound as she laid yesterday and don't know what happened. She was sick a month or so ago...seemed to be sour crop but when I treated her - just rubbed her crop a few times she was fine and has been okay since then, or so I thought.

Any ideas what happened to her? Anyone else in CA - do I need to report her or is it okay just to bury her?

It should be ok to bury her, unless you would like to have a necropsy done to know for sure what killed her. Chickens can be tough and fragile creatures, heat stress, genitic make up, underlying illness etc.. can all be causes, and sometimes they just die, seems for know reason sometimes...... So sorry for your loss.
