I'm so sorry, this is my worry as well, I'm always worrying about my animals and hawks, even my poodles, they take cats and everything around here!

I am sorry for your lost Silkie. I have had hawk attacks and it seems they take only the head and neck, leaving the rest. I may be wrong though, maybe it was something else that got them. The chicken may be too heavy for the hawks we have to take the whole thing and they don't have a taste for feathers?

Oh, Cheryl, I can feel your ache, too. Silkies just capture our hearts with their shiny eyes and flowing feathers. One of mine died in my arms....dog attack.

After you grieve, get some more silkies and love on 'em.
