We lost power wednesday morning at 6 am. It went back on this am at about 4am. I have a batch in my homemade incubator that was in there for 4 days and a batch in the hova bator that was in there one day. Should i keep incubating this batch or start over with new eggs.

Luckily I had a broody hen to set on my eggs that were in the 'bator.

I'd go ahead and incubate them for a couple more days, then candle

and see if you see any movement, but I'm really thinking they're going

to be no good.

Don't give up. I have had it happen to me and still had chicks hatch. I even had a turkey that left eggs in her nest after hatching a few poults. The remainng eggs were left in freezing weather for almost a entire day. I gathered the eggs without much hope and put them in the incubator and almost everyone hatched.

ok. I will give it the usual ten days and see what happens. The hova bator was on only one day so i am pretty sure they will do good. But my homemade incubator was on day 4 so they may not be in such good shape. but i will try it and see what happens. I have BO, silkie, and guinea eggs in so we will just wait and see.

If these eggs hatch it will be a miracle. Power keeps going off. On for a couple of hours then off for a couple hours.......

I would keep them in there another 5 days then candle them... i had a power outage from the storms last week, and was off for about 16 hours. I had 5 hatch yesterday, and 5 dozen pekin ducks are doing well. I candled all my eggs today, and though I did loose some, I'm still amazed at how many are still good to go. Over all I lost 5 coronation sussex, 2 SLW, 2 BO, 5 EE 6 Various duck eggs, but still have a lot working.
