just checked the eggs and i have about 6-8 pips......hardcore little suckers.....guess nature has its own way....will have pictures when they hatch..

you should be o.k. with the eggs, I have a hen that will get off her nest to let the other hens lay egg's in it, she will get off the nest for quite a while and the eggs are exposed to a average of 45 degrees most of the day. I have allot of nesting material to contain the heat. If you have them in the incubator the heat will be insulated and the temp should have only dropped a fer degrees. Water is a GEO thermal insulator. I never give up on the eggs until the time is up for the eggs to be on hatch day. Although I don't get as many fresh egg's every day because smarty pants cant lay on enough eggs. she looks like Fog horn leg horn.

a couple have hatched but they are not doing too good....real weak....the temp dropped to about 85 degrees....power was off for over 36 hours..... they were on day 5 when power was lost...will let it go and see what the final outcome is but it is not looking too good....sad...very sad...still have more pipping so we will keep our fingers crossed....

Our power went out the other day too. I wrapped my egg in a towel until I found a hen to sit on it until the power went back on. That poor egg has survived temperatures of 110 in the incubator accident!
