Put his food and water by or just inside the cage entrance and wait. When he gets hungry, he'll come out. That is assuming you don't have cats or dogs. One of my options cotunrix quail escaped. He's an indoor pet, so he's probably somewhere in the house, bit I haven't been able to find him yet. What can I do to help coax him out?
He's somewhere in the house, so he should be ok. However, he lives in a cage with a few female quail, so I can't just leave the door open without risking their escape as well. Do you think he'll eventually make his way over to his cage to be with his ladies?Put his food and water by or just inside the cage entrance and wait. When he gets hungry, he'll come out. Then I'd say leave it outside the cage and watch for him. Had a quail get loose outside by our shed and she eventually made her way back to the food and water. He's somewhere in the house, so he should be ok. I'll try that, thanks. If nothing else, maybe he'll come back for his ladies. Then I'd say leave it outside the cage and watch for him. Had a quail get loose outside by our shed and she eventually made her way back to the food and water.
That's good to hear.I found him in the kitchen. I decided to take one last look around the house to see if I could find him, and I just happened to see him sitting near the kitchen table. He got quite a scare when I caught him, but he's back home safe with his ladies now.
