Lost Racers

I recently trapped a lost racer for a pigeon fancier who is out of province.
I got in contact with the owner and he is to pick up the bird shortly.
On the upside I will meet a fancier I have never met before.
I have been notified of 2 more lost racing pigeons who may also need capturing.
Still waiting addresses on the other two pigeons to initiate a capture.
I bring 2 cages one with five pigeons in it and a second cage that doubles as a trap when I pull the door shut with a kite string.

Water and seeds are the perfect bait for a lost homing pigeon.

What is your flock count now?

I am guessing 50+- pigeons
I have not did a head count in quite some time.
I also have eight pairs with eggs.
Evening flying around 1900hrs has greatly lessened my lose to hawks.

How far away is his loft??? Town's distance from yours? And curious on direction of flight pigeon was on. Did pigeon stop at Ron's Airbnb, or did you borrow @CCUK .s magnet?

It took up residence in a camp ground about 3 miles from my summer home.

Halifax isn't that far from me! I'm guessing that they aren't returning on there own. How far from there home loft are they from where you have them?

How far from there home loft are they from where you have them?

I have only caught the one so far the other one is spooked and is going to be harder to catch. From my home (where the pigeon is now) it is 169 miles (271 km) from Halifax. It was 191 miles from Halifax where I captured the pigeon near Bouctouche N.B.

I'm guessing it's home loft isn't that far then if the owner is coming to pick it up! Good luck with the other two. So long as they're hungry they shouldn't be too difficult to catch! Famous last words!

Caught one more yesterday. The 3rd pigeon is in the Jones Lake area but has not yet established a home base that it frequents to set my trap.
Buddy never picked up the bird last weekend so it is now in my loft.
I paired her with the one I caught this morning.
