Lost Scout

Stone walked with a steady pace to the road before coming to a stop and turning his head to look each way. His ears flicked back to Mark as he waited for instruction from his rider.

Mark looked up towards the stars when Stone stopped, trying to get an accurate idea of the direction they were headed. They had been heading north for awhile, and he knew that both Aberdeen and Wedmor were west of their position. "Lets go to the left," he murmured, tapping Stone lightly on the side to guide him in that direction down the road.

(Wedmor would be to the east. :) )

The hammock landed over Charles, hitting the candle that he held in his left hand and extinguishing the small flame, plunging the room back into total darkness. "Ow!" he said as the rod clunked him on the side of the head, making him sink to one knee as the candle and holder clattered to the floor. "Anna! Gytha! Please stop! Listen to me!" he uttered desperately. Gytha however, was in no frame of mind to stop and listen as she wrested her own rod out of his hand.

Grishkah looked over Ruby's unconscious form, eyeing the girl greedily, then glancing at Orkhan. "Can I keep it," she asked in the orcish tongue. "Grishkah make it good slave."

Once they were established on a path, Mark was finding it incredibly difficult to stay awake. His weeks in the orc camp taken an incredible toll on his strength, not to mention his interrupted sleep tonight. If it wasn't for Bagira, bobbing back and forth, he would have fallen asleep an hour ago...

(Right... you're right... directionally challenged over here

)

Orkhan cracked an amused grin in her direction. "Of course you can, Grishkah. You've earned it after tonight. In fact, you captured the most slaves out of all of us. Good job, your training must be coming along well..."

He eyed Danielle and Luella, who were still standing quietly in front of the female orc. The younger girl had her head down and her eyes averted, but Luella kept glancing every so often into the dark forest like she wanted to try and run for it again... she was afraid, however, that they would punish Danielle if she did.

(I think by this time Ezra and Jasper would be getting close?)

Ezra covered his mouth with one hand as his jaws suddenly parted in a massive yawn... this all-nighter stuff was harder then it had sounded a couple of hours ago. They were making good time, but for a moment he wondered what Ragnar would think if they showed up with their story looking like zombies. That actually wouldn't be such a bad thing... he thought.

"How you doin'?" He looked at Jasper, trying to gauge in the dark how tired his partner was. "Do you need a rest?"

Stone noticed his riders inattention and shook his mane, snorting softly. His ears flicked back then forward, listening for danger as they walked along the road.

~~~
Anna paused as the room was plunged back into darkness. She didn't want to hit Gytha, and was confused as to why he had not called for help. "Gytha?" She asked softly.
~~~
Ruby moaned softly, starting to come around again.

( Sounds reasonable to me. :) We can say it's getting close to dawn and they've been riding all night.)

"Hmmmm?" Jasper said, shaking his head as he had been half dozing upon Duke. "Oh, I'm alright. Are we almost out of the Greywoods?" he asked, having lost track of how long they had traveled. The surgeon's apprentice twisted in the saddle, stretching his sore muscles as he was not used to riding for more than an hour or so at a time. Even the black colt was carrying his head a little low, unaccustomed to being ridden for such long periods.

Gytha swung the hammock rod toward Charles, though in the dark her aim was slightly off and the blow hit the man on the bicep. He took a step backwards as he tried to untangle himself from the hammock and physical block the exit from the small room.

"Listen! I'm trying to help!" he said as the scout swung the rod at him again, missing this time.
