It sounds like you are doing all the right things. Too bad the cayugas cannot talk it out. I reckon they will slowly get better, they just have to see for themselves that they are safe.
When my cats are spizzed out, I use Rescue Remedy. I cannot say this scientifically speaking, but it seems to help them calm down a little. It is flower essences that are supposed to help them feel more relaxed. At least it makes me feel like I am doing something to help them.
