Lots of CROWS! Are they a pest to chickens?

Crows will eat baby birds of all kinds. We used to have to protect our mama's and babies in a special pen because otherwise we would see the crows come down and grab a baby. It was horrible. They also ate every blue Jay egg or baby they could find. I hate seeing them as much as I hate seeing hawks or Golden Eagles over the chickens. Luckily we have a spectacular dog that learned somehow to watch for them. As soon as he sees or hears a hawk or crow he runs out, scans the sky and takes off to get it. Consequently they eat my neighbors chickens instead. On the plus side, they do mate for life.

I hung up a yellow shirt in the doorway, and closed the door enough so that the chickens could still get in.
