Lots of fat on quail

I culled my first 3 quail and one particular bird had MUCH more fat on it than the other two. Kinda like in jelly like balls, was very tedious to remove. Should I be concerned about eating it?

I haven't harvested quail.. but I have chicken & turkey.. and seen that even in the same set up and on same feed among the same breed from the same parents and at the same age, etc.. genetics vary.

I wouldn't be worried personally. Do you have a specific concern?

Was it an older bird? In my experience, older birds will have more fat.

No pics it was last night and maybe 3 months old

It sounds like he was simply a greedy eater, then. Unless the fat was a weird colour or any of the internal organs smelled or looked odd, I wouldn't worry about it.
