As far as eggs, I recommend https://www.vailsquail.com/ or Alissa Coker on Facebook, she has many coturnix varieties for extremely reasonable rates! I just had an amazing hatch with her eggs

I did this in my homemade. with so many tiny eggs it makes life easier.Ebay sellers have gotten much better at packaging and shipping eggs. This does not negate the ravaging they inevitably go through with the postal service. But I still rarely get more than one or two eggs that are busted.
A lot of people have opinions on incubators... A lot people make their first one on here, a lot of people buy their first one. The real expense is not in the incubator, it's more in providing the proper housing. This is the same for if you buy or make it on your own. With an incubator I want to know that it works and is reliable. I've built one with the water heater thermostat, It seemed to work, but I could only make it by applying the principals that I learned from using the hovabator with added fan. Turner makes it better, but if you don't want theadded expense there is an alternative: Put the eggs in pointy side down in a styrafoam egg carton inside the incubator. To turn the eggs, put a block of wood under one side of the incubator. When it comes time to turn, put the block of wood on the other side. You only need a 45 degree turn.
