Lots of questions

1. Can button quail breed with the other kind?
2. They can house together well right?
3. Is a kiddy wadeing pool enough square feet for a group of quail , how many?
4. when will I start getting eggs?
5. are they like young chicken eggs and smaller ect then when they get older?
6.They need more calcium and stuff too right just like chickens when they are laying?

How come artifically and not naturally?
My thing is I would love to keep my buttons and my coturnix quail together but Id kinda like them to mate with the right ladies .
I was thinking of one of the little wadeing pools like for toddlers and then a thing of wire around it and netting on the top or something

zip ties that way you just lift ot hte round of wire for cleaning the bottom then once a week or a month or whatever when you need to clean the wire sides you can just unzipp tie it and lay it in youre tub or what not and srub it down.
thats the idea anyways not shure how it will work till I have the pieaces together.

Boys are so rough lol cant they play nice.

as for your idea will work well as long as you take out teh birds first (because they'll hop out and if their wings are clipped you'll have a ton of birds running/flying off)

Im hopeing they can go in a small dog kennle while I clean or something along those lines.
I dont know much about quail so If any babies look diffrent then the little brown ones you can be shure Ill be posting pics of them and asking about if I should breed them to this or that.
My little button still seems soooooo tiny , he dosnt look like he has wing feathers yet he is almost a week ok I think ill have to go hunt down the day he hatched to be exact, do they grow slower then the coturnix ones?
