LOTS OF SILKIES!

I gave her a warm water bath, which she wasn't too happy about (and neither was my wife-because I was using the kitchen sink

). There were no mites or lice, but it won't hurt to do prevention. I honestly think she just hasn't developed feathers there yet. She is only weeks old. She did have a small clump of poo above her vent (not blocking it), so perhaps she had poo stuck to her feathers and they came out as she was preening herself? Her whole underside is sparse when it comes to feathers, but she seems healthy-she's not sickly or anything. Who knows. I'll start watching her even closer going forward. All the other chicks (all 6 weeks old) look healthy too.

Add more protein to her diet, plain unsweetened yogurt mixed with her food twice a week. Sevin dust, and permethrin based product is good to have around.
