I just went out and bought 2 chicks...I need to know what kind they are and about how old... along if they need a brooder still...Okay thanks...
 
I'd say the first is a buff orp. No clue on the second.


I wouldn't put a light on them, but wouldn't put them in with adults, yet, either. I'm guessing 3-4 weeks or so for the age since they are pretty feathered out.
 
They look to be about 5-6 weeks old, so they should be at about 70°F right now? Depending on your weather, you may not need a lamp if it's warm enough.
Not sure about the breeds... the white one could be a leghorn, white rock, who knows? Possibly a buff orpington for the top photo?
Anyone else?
 
My white ameraucana looks like that, but it could be a number of different white chickens. My ameraucana also looks about the same and she's 4 weeks.
